2026 has been a roller coaster of crazy.
I've been over 1600m underground for work, I've had two jobs so far this year but this last one will stick. I'm personally responsible for 4x revenue because I upsell the shit out of every job I'm on for panel upgrades, new lighting, better switches and plugs, new EV chargers, etc. people are completely unprepared when a corporate level sales guy LARPing as a normal electrician walks in to fix some minor problems they are having.
I've moved out of the house but I'm still present in the kid's lives. After a month I'm pretty sure the full impact of exactly how much I did around the house and with the kids is realized. The yard work hasn't been done, everything is falling apart, and she's feeling the financial strain now that I know exactly how much she makes and she's paying half of all the shared expenses. I'm literally saving over 2k a month now and she's leaning on all her family to help with the kids but I'm sure that patience will run out ...
