Viewing life as a video game. I'm in sales and I do pretty well. I've built networks and I've never been called on the carpet for my numbers. I almost always hit my goals. The new factor is I've never been forced to use Salesforce before this new job.
I realized today after poking around in the program I'm going to be really well off financially. It incentivizes literally every metric in the sales process. Dopamine drops, yo. Whoever designed the program is psychologically insidious. It creates a sandbox where the user navigates a specific system to meet goals. Since I love nothing more than to grind away at an objective this works perfectly for me. It's exactly like old school RPG stat systems but I add the real world quests of going out to run missions in the form of sales calls to beat the end boss and bring home a P.O. to complete the side quest.
Adding to the concept of gaming, you get buffs in the form of the level of prestige your company has, the perks of income and benefits, plus an open world concept where you can roam about unlocking new side quests that are completely unrelated to the main story line, like finding interesting situations while out on sales trips.
"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players" was centuries ahead of its time. Shakespeare was an author of the simulation.
I enjoy work trips. They remind me I still have fire in the belly and women find me attractive. I also am in a personal development arc.
Being in sales you have to have a certain level of hutzpah. I'm rediscovering that level of attitude of abundance I lost when I became a dad.
This attitude of abundance carries over into all domains of my life. Sales are up, lucrative deals are dropping into my lap almost weekly now. Wherever I go I'm connecting with women showing interest. Even my soon to be ex wife is doing a 180 on her shitty attitude and cunty behavior trying to repair things.
Here's a great video that encapsulates that attitude of abundance.
